NSW #freepublictransport is popular, shows what people really want

Passengers savour free tickets to ride, courtesy of the Opal Card | News.com.au: "Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian confirmed customers are now flocking to public transport on Saturdays and Sundays. And she expects weekend patronage to increase even more.
Ms Berejiklian puts the bulging carriages and buses down to the free travel provided to Opal card holders once they make eight paid journeys in a week. Opal card holders can also travel all day on a Sunday for $2.50.
“The NSW government has provided more than 8500 extra weekly public transport services since March 2011, and we will continue to look at increasing public transport services for customers when and where it is needed,” she said. “And that includes on the weekend.”"
